Soul Survivor is an international youth ministry that desires to reach, disciple, equip and empower young people to make a difference in their generation.

Soul Survivor Values

We’re just in the middle of re-writing and refreshing our values statement; we'll have it with you ASAP.

On a basic level we are evangelical charismatic Christians. A formal statement of what we believe is laid out in the Evangelical Alliance Statement of Faith. How organisations, communities and people work out these founding beliefs differs considerably depending on a person's or organisation's specific interests and calling.

We focus strongly on intimate worship, ministry in the power of the Holy Spirit, and Biblically based teaching and equipping. We are passionate about teaching and encouraging young people in South Africa to walk with God everyday.

History

Soul Survivor grew out of an Anglican church, St Andrew’s Chorleywood in the UK, that was equipping Christians to move in the power of the Holy Spirit through the ‘New Wine’ family conferences.

It was clear from the growth in the youth work at New Wine that something separate was needed for young people so in 1993 Soul Survivor launched its first annual conference in Shepton Mallet, Somerset. This first event hosted just under 2,000 people and the number of delegates has grown every year since to an astonishing 22,789 in 2005.  This now means there are a number of events held to be able to accommodate everybody; two events for people of secondary school age, one for students and twenty-somethings called Momentum and one for worship leaders called Passion For Your Name.  All have the same core values reflected in their meeting times which encompass worship, teaching and ministry and the same desire to reach, disciple, equip and empower young people to make a difference in their generation.

In addition to the main summer events there are ‘Soul Sista’ one-day conferences to teach and encourage young women throughout the year, Soul Net retreats for youth leaders and other one-day conferences open to all.

There are also seven international Soul Survivor centres across the world that share our vision and values and hold annual events for the young people of Australia, Canada, Holland, South Africa, Malaysia and the USA.
