What is Soul Survivor
Soul Survivor South Africa is an international youth ministry that desires to reach, disciple, equip and empower young people to make a difference in their generation. Our most important values are worship, ministry in the power of the Holy Spirit, biblical and inspiring teaching, evangelism and compassion. Soul Survivor has been active in South Africa for more than 10 years now. You might have heard of our youth and worship events in the past where guys from the UK (Mike Pilavachi, Matt Redman & Tim Hughes) came over.

Over the last year God has put on our heart as Soul Survivor ministries internationally to really get our hands dirty in the area of social justice. We hope to make an impact through a massive city wide mission in Durban in 2009 called SoulintheCity Durban. SoulintheCity Durban will bring up to 3,000 young people from across the world to work with Christians in Durban in order to impact the local community and demonstrate the love, mercy, compassion and grace of God. Above all our desire is to bring the presence of God to the last, the least and the lost. The plans are already unfolding with teams coming to serve in April, July and August 2006. We want to inspire thousands of young South Africans to worship God in word and deed through SoulintheCity Durban. In order to recruit young people we hope to hold worship events in various places in South Africa in these next few years.

The heart of Soul Survivor is to envision young people of all denominations to capture first a vision of Jesus, and then to equip, train, empower and release them into his ministry in their every day lives. We focus strongly on intimate worship, ministry in the power of the Holy Spirit, and Biblically based teaching and equipping. We are passionate about teaching and encouraging young people in South Africa to walk with God everyday. We do this in many different ways which may include: conferences, retreats, resources, local church-based events, training events, discipleship courses and mentoring programs.
